I didnt want to either - but I am only 33 when I had my hysterectomy. I do a low level of Estrodial and a testosterone gel that I rub on me. it keeps me level and without flashes and my libido is very very good. There is also a website called hystersisters.com. It is a site dedicated to hysterectomy "queens" and menopause women. There are tons of very good links there and good discussion groups!! Good Luck!

Very probably yes, because some testosterone is produced in the ovaries and the ovaries continue to produce testosterone after menopause and, though there will be a small amount from the adrenals, removal of the ovaries will cause a serioius drop in testosterone levels and probable decrease in libido.

Testosterone can be administered by injection, cream or patches and you should see your doctor about this in order to enhance your libido.

On the other hand, a drop in testosterone levels will reduce the tendency to develop a moustache which commonly happens after menopause.

I have heard different stories from different woman. Most say it doesn't change the desire it changes the feel of the orgasm and this is after a FULL hysterectomy. Now if it is just the ovaries, then you should not have a problem at least from what I have been told from other woman. Talk with your doctor about your concerns and talk with other woman, they have all kinds of web-sites for woman that have had hysterectomies. Good luck to you!

The medical term used for this process is called an oophorectomy, not hysterectomy. When it is performed your natural sex hormones progesterone, & estrogen are lost for good because ovaries make them. Yes you do
