This comes up nearly every day and you can blame the internet for that. There are two common words that end in "gry" and quite a few uncommon ones. The problem is that most people get the wording of the puzzle wrong so it doesn't work.

There are variations but the basic form is this.

Think of words ending in "gry", Angry and Hungry are two of them. There are three words in the English language, what is the third word?

Some versions go on to tell you that it is a very common word and if you look closely you will see it has been given to you already.

This is an old schoolyard puzzle along the same lines as :
Antidisestablishment is a very long word, how do you spell it?
Answer: I -T

Look at the wording of the puzzle again. You are not asked for a third word ending in "gry" you are asked for the third word in "the English language". The answer is "language".

If you must know other words ending in "gry", puggry, aggry, anhungry and gry itself are words.
