I have a desktop that I built myself. I have an Asus motherboard and a 2.8 proccessor. I have an Nvidia 256 video card and a
300 gig maxtor hard drive. Recently my computer keeps shutting down and restarting itself. Everytime it does i let it run scan disc
but usually no probs are found. I ran anti virus but no virus found.
I have a spyware killer and ran that but found no spyware.
The error report keeps saying Device Driver Error, but all my device drivers have been updated and are ok. Every now and then when it starts up it goes to a blue screen that says
DRIVER_IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
It usually shuts down when I play media files or games. Sometimes when I am just typing or on the internet.
I thought it was running to hot, so I increased my fan speed
and disabled the temp shutdown feature, but it still does it.
Any idea of whats wrong?

Sounds to me like Windows Sp2 errors.

Could be several things causing it, but you need to turn off auto-restart. Then you will get a blue screen with an error message. Write down the error code you get, and wait untill it does this several times, in order to see if the message is always the same, or varies each time. You also need to turn on Windows Verifier, which will allow the system to flag any drivers that may be causing this. Go to start/run, and type verifier . Then create a standards list, click ok, then select all unsigned drivers, click ok, and that's it. If a driver is the issue, you will get a blue screen with a message like " the sound driver has attempted to corrupt the system, and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer". These are a couple tricks to help pinpoint the problem you are having, or at the very least, to eliminate a few possible causes.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
