Well I think that Marriage is scary to some people and they are afraid that it might change the way they feel about each other. To some individuals it's just a piece of paper and to others it's a covenant. I think a 2 year engagement is more than enough time to find out where two people stand with each other definitely living together 11 years. You've gone this far why not make it official.

You've been together for 11 years already, so whats a couple more? You wouldn't take your car to the shop unless it was broke right? So if nothings wrong, don't try to fix it. Remember, the number one cause of divorce is marriage!

Then do all the plans and arrangements yourself. Set the date a year or more in advance - tell him repeatedly. Take him to get fitted for a tux and ask who he's going to invite. The hints will sink in and he'll either let you do it all or help you a bit. Chances are he's not going to run away.

thats not unreasonable at all (on your behalf). if you've been engaged for a few years then it obviously means that marriage was planned for the future. talk to him about it, he won't leave you, he loves you too much. he probably wants to get married but maybe because of your current situation it may not be at the front of his mind.

Two years is a long engagement, and it is long past time to set the date and tie the knot! Just tell him it is time and start the planning!
