Hello to all Military personnel. I am also a widow of a deceased Vietnam Vet. I applaud all of your service to this great nation. However, what are you really thinking about your Commandor in Chief and the Iraq war, or are you doomed to have no opinion just follow and go to war?

To Marcus S. Sorry to hear about it. I just thought I wanted to know how miitary folks really feel about it. Or whether or not they follow blindly into a war without having reservation's or opinion on their own. I was going to write you this personal. But you did not leave an email.
Thanks for your service to this great country. It's pathetic that our soldiers must fear of being prosecuted cause they want no longer to fight the war that our politicians are wedging. I think we the people need to take overhand in these affairs. How about by not paying our taxes any longer. Going on strike with that would give them thinking or not? Let's just not pay taxes any longer. And see what they will do than. Imprison us for not paying em?

I'm an Iraq War Veteran and I think that the War in Iraq was a mistake from the get-go and we should get out of there ASAP. I was an Army Reservist and I served regrettably in Iraq because I feared prison if I didn't go. A few brave resistors are starting new lives in Canada (see link in sources). I pray that the Canadian Government gives them asylum.
Now it appears that we will probably attack Iran after some kind of new Gulf of Tonkin-like incident in the Persian Gulf. President Bush, in my opinion, is the worst President to ever serve this country. Give me Jimmy Carter any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
As far as soldiers still serving over in Iraq and at home, I don't want to speak for all of them, but the vast majority of my close friends are scared to death. I fear many of them might run for Canada soon. I won't think of them as cowards or deserters. I will think of them as brave men and women that decided to stand up for what is right and say no to evil.
God bless the troops and please let them all come home soon.

of course alot of the military has problems with the way things are handled in any war. especially in todays military when it is ran by politicians and not the men and women fighting the war. All the studies that say the military is not happy with how it is handled doesn't say if they think it is a just mission or not. there is a reason for that. of course there are going to be some that agree with the mission and some that dont but to take into account reenlistment is higher than it has ever been as well as initial enlistment when they all know that this wont be over tomorrow shows that they agree with the overall goals.
"they want us to be politicians and statesmen, I cant do that. I'm a soldier and I fight wars"

I'm going all the way back to ancient Egypt and the Pyramids., for the answer.
Archaeologist found anti Pharaoh graffiti in the non temple corridors of most pyramids.
This is a common pattern for military to make light of their leadership. It isn't new, history shows us it is more the norm than the exception. I was in Vietnam and we laughed about the Generals, we rolled our eyes when we heard President Johnson's name.
The Armed forces today are no different than the Armed Forces of Jules Cesar. Trained professionals that sometimes laugh at the leadership.

i talk to returning Vets everyday and I can honestly say that 90% of the Vets I talk to are happy at their commander in chief. and especially at the past secretary of defense they have seen first hand how this has been a war for freedom and not for the reasons they were told they were there for by michael moore. They are angry that funding for Veterans has been slashed to help pay for this war . they are angry that they have to pay a copay for their healthcare... as they probably should be angry at such
