I have been out of college for 5 years. I have a biology degree and have worked in various labs. I know I don't want to work in a lab anymore and I have been thinking of getting out of science altogether. Does anyone have any ideas of fun jobs that pay resonably well that I wouldn't need to go back to school for?

I started my own business when I was in school through BeautiControl. The parties are really fun and relaxing and you really get out of it what you put into it. You decide your own schedule, how much or little you work, you have a lot of flexibility. Plus you also determine how much you can make and how much you can advance.

Let me know if you are interested.

Sales might be a direction you could go into. The money varies depending on how much youput into the job it can be fun if you make it that way. Pharmisutical (sp?) sales would be good for someone with a science background, i have heard they like that in their sales people.

Also you could really do a lot without having to go back to school. You have experience in a professional enviornment. The key to a new career is spinning the expereince you have to fit the new career you want. Most people dont care so much about what specific degree you have.

So explore your other interests. Do professional interviews with people in different careers. Just go in and ask them about their job, how they got there, do they like it etc. It helps you learn more about prospective jobs and it can be a great way to network.

You know, I have a business that could use a person with a biology degree. If you are willing to work and are trainable, you could make a lot of money at it. You can e-mail me at kidsandfarming@yahoo.com and I will give you more info at that time.

i am not sure as to what labs you worked at in companies, but pharma companies do pay well to Co-OP's and Employee. e.g. JNJ is one of the most employee friendly company with fun jobs and excellent pay/benefits. you can try biology labs in pharma, unless u have already tried that.
