Do you mean a 30'x100'x16" deep pile? Then just multiply 30 X100X 1 1/3 because 16" = 1 1/3 ft.
Then divide by 27 because 1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet

If you mean how many yards of soil are in a 30'x100'x16" deep HOLE, the answer is zero. Holes are empty. If this is a homework question it's probably a trick question, I've seen this same idea before.

30'X100'X16"
=(30/3)X(100/3)X(16/12X3)yard^3
=10X33.33X0.44) yard^3
=146.67 yard^3
This is the quantity of soil excaved. But there would be no soil in the hole excavated.
