Okay, I actually have 2 questions....first, my period was late and my boobs hurt so I got a blood test done and it was positive. But I don't feel pregnant and my boobs don't hurt anymore. Is it heard of to have a false positive BLOOD TEST?
My second question is, I heard there was a way to roughly determine how far along you are by your hcG? When I had the test done it said 69.9. My appointment with the OB isn't until the 8th but I want a rough estimate now! Hah, can anyone help?

Your first blood test is accurate. It could be one of two things:

1) You are not very sensitive to the hormones and that's why you aren't feeling much. Your body has acclimated to them.

2) It could be a chemical pregnancy. A chemical pg is when an embryo sticks and starts to produce HCG (which triggers a result in the blood test and the home pregnancy test), but the embryo is chromosomally abnormal and it gets reabsorbed by the body.

If you need some reassurance, you can go get a second blood test. Beta numbers (your first one was 70) should double every 48-72 hours. You can go to this website: http://www.betabase.info/doublingCalc.php. All you have to do is enter in the date of your first blood test and the beta number, then the date of the next blood test and the number. It will let you know your exact doubling time in hours.

MANY women don't feel much of anything during the first few months of pregnancy and they go on to have healthy babies. But if you just would like a little extra hope, spring for another blood test to tide you over until that first OB appointment. I hope it all works out!

No on a blood test the only way to get a false positive is if you were receiving some kind of HCG hormone therapy, if you answered no to that then you are pregnant without a doubt. Second about your question about how far along you are yes they can give you a rough estimate on your HCG levels but nothing can be close to accurate until you have an ultrasound to measure the baby and what not. I mean you can give yourself a rough estimate by counting from the first day of your last period until now and that should give you and idea of how far along you are. Best of luck to you and CONGRATS.

Yes it is possible to have a false positive blood test. It doesn't happen often, but it can happen. There is always some amount of hcG in your blood stream. Did you take a urine test? Urine tests do not give false positives (only false negatives) since the amount of hcG they measure guarantees pregnancy.
It is sometimes possible to have a pregnancy test positive but for you to then have a period. What this means is that implantation failed and you had a very early miscarriage. This is not the same as a false positive on a pregnancy test (since you were pregnant).
Also, in the first trimester you may not "feel" pregnant. How a woman's body responds to pregnancy depends on the woman. You may never get morning sickness. Your breasts may stop hurting and never hurt again. If that is you, you are one of the rare lucky ones.

False positives are next to none. If it comes up positive you are most likely pregnant. I don't know how much about estimation by hcg, but I do not your hcg rate doubles every day or something like that. Doctors normally base it off of your LMP. That of course being your last period. Also, doctors can usually determine by hcg dropping whether you are miscarrying. Congrats on being pregnant. Also know that every woman is different and they may have all pregnancy symptoms or none of them.

I am a phlebotomist who works in a outpatient lab. We do hcg blood test all the time. Blood is the most accurate! It is very rare to hear of a false-positive with a blood test.

Give it a few weeks you'll start to feel it. And I've never heard of the blood test coming up as a false positive. Just go by the date of your last menstrual cycle.
