nonsense - I made the most of my opportunities with alot of hard work. I was blessed to be born in a nation that encourages this, but what I have is not at the expense of someone else. It was at my own expense, in time, ambition, perseverance and plain hard work.

There are a lot of people who donate to charities which serve those who haven't the means or money to gain education. It is unfair to label all educated people as the cause of this.! As for paying into the system for education, it is right to do so! I have no quarms about paying a few quid out of my wage packet if it means my son can be educated. Are you saying that we should pay for other peoples education as well as our own countries? How would a tiny country like England afford that? At the end of the day it is the individual's decision on what they want to do outside the laws of the country and like I said before, many people do chip in to help those less fortunate. I think it is a real shame that there are so many people struggling by in life while we have so many luxuries available to us. I give to charity and help others as much as possible so does that mean that I am still a traitor simply for putting money into my country's education too?

You say "We".To me it sounds like you are not exactly like them, because you actually seem to be concerned.I am not a school educated person, but you are right about some of the ignorance of others, that are.I actually had someone tell me one time that only school educated people amount to something. It did not feel good, because i believe that the whole world i a big classroom and people like me are sometimes just as smart if not smarter than the hypocrite that say and feel this. Most of those people lack one ability i have noticed, and that is communication and people skills.Open mindedness is not in their vocabulary. You ,on the other hand show at least a concern about this behavior.I would say you are pretty cool.People like you are the kind of people that can help people like me.See i don`t like school and only did like it when we had a very interesting subject.I am more the type of person that learns faster hands on.Books are just to boa-ring.I had to learn English in school in Germany and believe me i hated it.I did not see no sense in it what so ever.I needless to say flunked it every time.Look at me now,i may not be perfect at it just yet,but through on hand experience i think i have learned a lot, more then other people could say.I love learning new things.I wouldn`t really go as far as labeling them as traitors.I would just say that they are very coincided.

Greetings.
OK I would care to think that I am reasonably literate.
That was due to a good input at school and beyond, and a wish not to be thought of as of being "dumb" when it comes to the English, and other languages.
I agree, that when you see such nonesense as -
Hi tks 4 msg ! on this,
I despair.
I am not being grumpy, but surely there is some pride in grammar and spelling out there.
As for costings - I feel that it is all worthwhile to put a few quid into the systems to improve the standards.
As long as it is made to work !
My kind felicitations,
Robert.

It depends where you live doesn't it? us in the "developed" world get free education for all...but both rich and poor do not always take advantage of it.
I suppose it the developing worlds it is money that buys an education which is wrong and instead of starting/fighting wars the richer countries should be supporting the education of the poorer kiddies

I really don't understand how my education has made someone else poorer. I have provided employment for several thousand people in all parts of the world. In any case we don't have a choice if our parents decide to have us educated

I think I agree with you. This is yet another example of the haves grabbing more for themselves and leaving the poor even poorer. a case in point is that there are more Malawian doctors in Manchester than there are in the whole of Malawi so the UK is benefiting from their expertise at the expense of the already impoverished country that they have come from.
I am not quite sure how you solve the problem though :-(

Knowledge is power so corrupt governments try not to educate its people in order to subjugate them. It was education that ended the soviet union.
