with my first, we had it done really early, because my dates were all messed up. and my daughter was born on the due date they gave me that day. so i would say yes, the earlier they're done the more accurate.

Yes most ofthe time they give a pretty accurate due date. But it all depends on when the baby wants to come into this world! They are very accurate. The sonogram does more than just record the image of the fetus. The technician is also measuring the baby, looking at heart rhythm, spinal cord development and brain and lung maturity. All of these things together factor out the gestation age.

The first trimester sonograms are pretty accurate, within a few days. After that genetics take over and it can be off as much as 2 weeks. This is why they usually will not change your due date based off later sonograms.

early sonograms are pretty accurate when measuring size of fetus and due date. Later sonograms are not, as the fetus grows differently for everyone. My first was 8 lbs and my second 5 both right around their due date.

Nope the Due Date (called the envisioned shipping Date) is only a robust wager. Your little you may come early or previous due and that is truly unlikely that you'll easily provide on your due date. The sonogram is only a thanks to estimate your infant's gestational age. Your infant is the in common words one which is conscious of even as he/she will be in a position to be the following (till you've a planned c-section) all and diverse else is in basic terms guessing! :-)

they tend to give an accurate range. they're based on the size of the baby (head, leg, arm measurements). But no due date is supposed to be exact. It's just a estimate as to when it's likely for you to give birth.

It is fairly accurate during the first trimester, after that it is not. Your baby might be really big or really small. I am due in three weeks and the ultrasound says that my due date in early and mid march...a month after my due date. My baby is just really small.

I don't think so, I think that my 2nd baby was 3 weeks late but according to my scan he was only 4 days late. The date that they gave me for conceiving him was the date that I took my test and got a positive result!
