Clearly, Bush is mistakenly thinking that reversing his position on his illegal wiretapping will expunge five years of breaking the law and divert attention to other issues. It won't save his hide when an oversight committee investigates his five-year rampage. It's too little, too late. His butt is toast.

He didn't flip flop on anything, the same thing is in effect, just handed over to the courts. This keeps Bush from having to sign a continuency on the policy every 45 days to keep it in effect. Try reading the story behind the headlines. You might learn something. And for your information, since you like to bash Bush so much. Maybe you should bash the Democrats as well, because they voted for this also.

Because he's a woose - and I voted for him.
He needs to pardon the two border patrol agents that did their job and are now in Fed Prison. But, he won't do the right thing on this and many other things, because he has no backbone on some important issues.

The same reason he is getting ready to flip-flop on the environment. He is supposed to make a big announcement of a change of course on global climate change in his State of the Union address. He is compromising with Dems, as he needs their support with Iraq. I wish we could see more of it and less bipartisanship.

My favorite defense of the wiretapping is "If you've done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear."
I believe Hitler said that to the German people, didn't he?
The fact remains that if the President wants to tap our phones, read our e-mail or, my personal favorite, open our snail mail (hey, he can open mine but he has to pay any bill he opens), he is REQUIRED by the UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION (a document he swore twice to uphold, defend and protect) to obtain a warrant. Period.
The people who use this stupid justification for the government's invasion of our privacy are talking about letting the President violate his Oath of Office because you're scared of a piece of paper.
Please.

It can't be a secret if it's open. There is no such thing as open spying.

I think he was wrong to discontinue the program.
I think people are more concerned with attacking Bush than defending the nation.
I agree - the people have spoken.
Who will get the blame for the next attack?

It's very sad that young people today don't think things through completely before they judge others.
Democrats may be the majority, but BUSH IS STILL THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!!
