He said that he would put me up in one of his houses, (have it all furnished for me) and everything when i get there. have a car for my use. Hell Ya! Worst case scenario is that you gain restaurant management experience. Not to mention there is a job there now and that is the only reason you left.

You mean your COUSIN, maybe?

If you aren't doing anything in Ohio, and you want to run a restaurant, and your cousin is offering that chance, then you should probably do it. BUT, I don't like the sound of this house and car thing - he should be paying you a proper salary to do the job so that YOU can rent or buy your own home and lease or buy your own car. If he's letting you stay in a house and lending you a car, you need to have a contract that specifies your rights to those things - because he's going to pay you less than the job would pay in an "arms-length" (not friends or family) situation.

You sure you're up to this?

This is up to YOU and you only! You have to evaluate all the things that we don't know. Such things as your current job, your proximity to family, current financial status, etc. all have effects on this decision. If you truly believe that you can be successful going into business with this person, go for it! Be careful because family business relationships can be a delicate subject. You're young and have time to figure some things out and take some risks, so follow your passion and do what you enjoy most. Good luck!!

i own a restaurant with my husband and i want to let you know that running a restaurant requires many hours of work. so if you have children i just thought that you should know that (60 - 80 hrs) depending on the hrs that the restaurant is open.
as far as moving if it didn't work out you can always move back to Ohio if you wanted later. i would move but then we really love what we do and it would give you alot of experience if you chose to open a restaurant of your own one day.

Depends on how much money they actually have and have to invest in this business. find out if it is in a great location. Make sure he has a very thought out business plan and dont just take his word.
If everything sounds good and you have thought it through completely and everything is okay.
Go and start a new goal

With everything being laid out in front of you, what reason do you have for not going back?
I wouldn't even be answering on Yahoo! Answers right now because I'd be on the first plane to MI.

what reason do you have to stay?

i'd go in a heartbeat. it sounds like a dream come true.

also, Cusent isn't a word. if you mean your uncle/aunt's child, then that's your "cousin."
