I am a size 6 in shoes. I used to be an 8 but either shoes got bigger or my feet got smaller.
I am wearing a pair of light grey suede ankle height boots with wood effect on the heel and base. My boyfriend got them at Christmas for his sister and I tried to warn him that the heel *might* be uncomfortably high for her whilst trying not to sound like I was saying she wasn't feminine enough to wear heels. Not that you can't be feminine in low heeled shoes.
Anyway I told him to make sure she knew that we had the receipt and we could change them if she didn't like them. On Christmas his sister admitted that they *were* too high and if we didn't mind she would rather we take them back and get her something else. The reason I suspected they might be too high is because she is a young mother of a five year old and doesn't work outside the house so doesn't wear heels often, she prefers runners.
Instead of taking them back my boyfriend told me that I could have them and he would get his sister something else. I think he may have been a little bit hurt that she didn't like them and wanted to prove to himself that the shoes were nice, it's not that no-one would like them, it was just that his sister didn't. So I kept them and they are lovely, great for work, very stylish. They *are* high. It took me a day or two to get used to them and I generally wear heels. So his sister was right to refuse. For someone used to runners they would've broken her ankle! Plus, I get a new pair of shoes! I got 4 pairs of shoes at Christmas and these ones aren't my favourite. Imagine how long I could go on and on about my *favourite* pair of shoes!!
