I love my Country not Republicans that abuse the Country. This is patriotic as a Democracy. This isn't a Dictatorship as you tried to make it out as the last 6 1/2 years. Get over it you lost Novembers elections, and Republicans are out of favor in America. The rhetoric is old and tired, since your Administration only delivered bad results.

I don't know of any Liberal politicians that have claimed Hatred to be Patriot, in fact I think the opposite is true. Liberals tend to try to crush Free Speech more often than conservatives if the speech is "hate speech". I consider myself to be a conservative. I consider President Bush and the Republican party to have dissented from true Conservative ideals. They do not stand for limited federal government, laisser-faire foreign policy, low taxes, low spending and principals of Justice and Liberty.
The Neo-Cons have hijacked the Republican party and turned it into a tax and spend, fear mongering, party of spineless opportunist.
As to answer your question of Dissent being Patriotic; Thomas Jefferson is often Miss quoted as saying, "Dissent is the highest form of Patriotism." Jefferson never said that, but Jefferson did say, "The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then."
The question should be, "Is it unpatriotic to NOT question your government and President in a time of war?"
My answer would most certainly be, yes.

the reason being because of the present previous: i became instructed for the previous 8 years that if i do not help Bush, i do not help u.s.. I stated nice. i am going to settle for that and only wait till my guy is accountable and all of you assisting the president because he's the president can ought to get in line. and then, low and behold, they did not and enable the hypocrisy ooze out. Now, some liberals are resorting to a similar argument: yet what maximum are quite holding isn't you would possibly want to opt for to help the president because it truly is not patriotic or racist once you do not, yet that you've been holding human beings ought to help the President and now you do not. What the heck is with the hypocrisy? yet me, I carry to the unique position: there is no difficulty with debate or dissent, yet we ought to continually criticize the position that dissent is coming from.

They will argue and say that "so what, you think we should blindly follow our government?". Nevermind the fact that they blindly followed Clinton. The fact is, dissent is patriotic in times when the government is clearly wrong. But when liberals look at a Rep, all they see is 100% pure wrong, no matter what, so they think their hatred is justified. Hatred harms this country. Cindy Shameful's constant screeching at the government and cahorting with communists surely isn't patriotic, its treasonous

Most liberals are so blinded by their hatred of the President they would protest if he decided to pull out of Iraq tomorrow and had the twins artificially inseminated for the stem cells. It doesn't matter WHAT he does, simply that it's him who is doing it. The Left has ceased to have any clear message other than, "We hate Bush".
EDIT: Very well stated, AlexB!

This Liberal has never claimed that hatred is patriotic. This, as are many "questions" on this site, is a gross generalization.

The mere fact that one, who either disagrees with political decisions,or expresses their dislike toward actions that have been taken,is to be labeled a hater and unpatriotic dissident,is preposterous in it's self

.....because liberals will not take a stand for anything. They like to harp and complain, but when it comes to real answers they never come up with any. A perfect example of liberal hatred and dissent is withholding funding from our troops. They claim to support our troops, but they are going to veto the funding from our fighting men and women.
It is easy to talk from the cheap seats.
Good question.

Liberals have ALWAYS fought for:
CLEAN AIR
CLEAN WATER
CIVIL RIGHTS
VOTING RIGHTS
EQUAL RIGHTS
ENDANGERED SPECIES
SOCIAL SECURITY
MEDICARE
MEDICAID
These are all ACTUAL NAMES OF LAWS that LIBERALS HAVE FOUGHT FOR and CONSERVATIVES, REPUBLICANS AND RIGHTWINGERS HAVE FOUGHT TO DESTROY.
If you are FOR any of the above, then you share the views of LIBERALS.
