Sure, while your at it, get rid of icing too. I like total chaos.

I think getting rid of the offsides might be a bit much. That would probably make the fast breaks happen so often that they are boring.
Besides, I don't even think that a fast break in basketball is all that exciting, unless it is capped off with a spectacular dunk (or missed dunk). Since most of the biggest highlights in basketball are not fastbreaks, I see no reason to think that many fast breaks in hockey would be that exciting.

Horrible idea. Offsides discourages 'cherry picking' or when a player waits by an opposing players net the whole game. Offsides creates a more balanced and disciplined game.

Some of the best highlight reel goals were of a elite player such as Bobby Orr going end to end beating a forward or 2,beating the defenseman and deking the goalie. If Crosby stood at one end on the edge of the crease and Ovechkin stood at the other it would resemble curling and after watching them sweep the puck in the net a few times we would all be begging for the fast paced game we have now.

Terrible idea. The Offside rule is a staple and a foundation of the sport.
Maybe change Icing rule from tag up to automatich whistle.
And for God's sake, change the schedule back to the old way!!

There would NOT be more breakaways. You would just have players standing next to the goalie all night "cherry picking", the defense would have to stay with them to compensate, and suddenly all the stickhandling and passing goes away. It would make a mockery out of the game.
What I WOULD like to see is the blue lines "curved" so that each part of the blue line is actually the same distance from the goal, the part by the boards having more "neutral zone". I think that would open the game up some.

YES...it's so annoying not just in pro hockey but in other leagues....i play and alot of times you get a chance like a 2-on-1 on even a three on one they call offsides and aolt of the time the refs don't call it or call it when it's false, me i like hockey with less whistle and getting rid of offsides would help

Would football have more touchdowns with no offside calls? Would there be any point to the game anymore?
There is one sport that's like hockey without the offside: lacrosse.

That's a horrible idea. With no offsides the players could just stand in front of the opposing goalie the entire game! We would see a new breed of cherry pickers like never before...

Offsides doesn't limit breakaway goals, it limits cherry-picking. You want one guy sitting down by the opposing net all game? Boring.
