I only have 5 more weeks to go, but last night I started having horrible back and leg pain. I know its not contractions, but i tried to take a warm bath and tylenol. It didnt help. Before I went to sleep I even laid on a heating pad. Any suggestions?

What is the pain like? Does it begin in your back and move down to your leg? If yes, you could have pregnancy related sciatica. The baby is sitting on your sciatic nerve. Rest, relax, try heat and massage. Otherwise, the best remedy is delivery ;-)
If the back and leg pain are unrelated, for example you have back pain and then a leg cramp later on, you can't help the back pain (except by having the baby) but the leg cramps are most likely caused by a lack of potassium. This is very common in pregnancy. The best way to increase your potassium intake is by eating bananas.

Try having someone take a tennis ball and give you a back massage with it. I heard that helps.
Also, maybe a hot bath might help.
Also, it could be a sign labor is near. You can have back pain before contractions start, so take it easy, becareful and stay prepared.

Pretty early on in pregnancy everything starts shifting to accomodate the baby. Your hips are probably just stretching out so in 35 weeks you can have a baby. Call the Dr. to be sure though. Always better to know than to wonder.
