The engine has already run for more than 65,000 km. The problem initially occured when once I ran the car for several miles without realizing that it had run out of oil i.e., I drove it without oil in the engine. Has the engine been damaged because I ran it without oil for so many mile that the engine burnt up! I had it refillled to the top ? Since then the engine has been oozing oil whenever its filled to the top? What has caused the engine to behave in that manner? Has the engine been damaged because I ran it without oil? Also please tell the solution for fixing it with minimum cost?

running it without oil probably caused some seals to burn. is the motor still running okay? is it making alot of noise? how much oil is it leaking? my car leaks oil, and I have to add 2 Quarts between oil changes. but my car runs fine.

Running the engine without oil would cause it freeze up. ...and yes the engine can be damaged, but not always. When you say you refilled it to the top what do you mean...max level on the dip stick? If your oil level is higher than the dip stick max the engine created excess oil pressure causing the excess oil to ooze out. The fix for that is to do an oil change including the filter and refill until the oil is about 3/4 between MIN and MAX. Then add about 10oz (296ml) of Marvel Mystery Oil. The Marvel will add extra lubrication to valve and cam mechanism in the engine head.
It's also possible that by running without oil you damaged the oil seals. Oil seal replacement it is not a do-it-yourself job unless you have experience doing major work on cars. In any case I suggest you take your car to reputable shop and have them take a look.
