the head gasket is blown on my 4.0-liter strait 6-cylinder engine for a 1991 jeep cherokee. I would like to know what the avarage cost would be to get it fixed.

i own a repair shop,and this job usually cost around 350.00 bucks to do,,the head also has to be checked to see if it has any warpage in it,,before the new gasket is put on it,,but all together it usually cost around 350 for the whole job,,i have done a lot of those ,,there easy ones to do,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.

I had one a few yrs ago and it cost me just under $300 but I also had the waterpump replaced at the same time! Ask DODGEMAN, I bet he could give you a good answer on this on! But I would think around $200. Its a very easy job on those jeeps, I had to have mine done do to the fact that I was about 700 miles away from home.
