Personally, I hate this show.
It's ridiculous how people are ready to do anything just to be on TV. The first one was OK... Then they did a 2nd, and a 3rd and now we're a 6??? As a Canadian, I can affirm that here, we only have Kelly Clarkson playing on the radio... Whatever happened to the 4 others.
There is also something annoying about the judges. It's almost as if they HAD to be like that. It's obvious that they're not themselves... Simon thinks he's the king while Paula likes to show the world how ****** she is and the black dude... He just doesn't know how to talk...
Seriously, I wonder where those TV shows are driving our society.

I used to watch american idol, but then I realized that all they did was insult people who just couldn't sing or who looked and dressesed differently. I realized I just couldn't watch it anymore because it tells me a lot about society and their concept of image and music put together. I realize I should just turn off the television and realize what kind of world I'm living in.
I mean we are to wrapped up in this egotistical show thats all about singing and looking like a hollywood glamour. The more everyday people watch this stuff the more they feel less important about themselves and that isn't healthy for the mind. I had to realize after watching that show that their is a bigger world out their besides watching people make alot of money.

Yup, I like it and I'm 30. My mom likes it and she's 60. My niece likes it and she's 16. So, I don't think it's a generation thing. I know plenty of people who can't stand the show. For me, it's entertaining, it's funny, it's great to see new talent. It's fun to cheer for someone at home, like watching a football game. And, it's nice to see these kids who come from nothing make something out of their lives.

Its like a comedy show of talentless singers at first with people of no talent and a few good people come through,bo bice, kelly clarkson, carrie underwood, daughtry, taylor hicks, kellie pickler, rubben studdard have all been a success so if you have an ounce of musical knowledge its entertaining.but if the attitude is as bad as the spelling its wayyy over your head.

I think its the mindset of the new generation. Takes less and less to amuse people as time goes on. Watch the movie Idiocracy and it will show you the trends.

i don't know. i never really started watching it until after season 3. my favorite part is the bad auditions. once it gets down to 10 people they really drag out the whole production.
bones is a good show too!

NOT EVERYONE likes it. I despise it and think it is one of the most idiotic shows ever on television. There is nothing redeeming about it. It is completely pointless.

Watching last nite, I was thinking about that. It is a freak show, and that is why we watch, I think. To see people make fools of themselves.

i only watch the first couple of weeks of the show. i find it very entertaining that people can think that much of themselves to embarrass themselves nationally. when they narrow it down to the good singers, i'll find something else to watch.
