I do not mind when he tells the truth but when he makes fun of pople for the way they look I think is just plain mean.

I don't think that being nice to someone is what you need in that kind of business. A harsh wake-up call is what some need and Simon provides it. Sweet answers like Paula gives only hurts people in the long run. Like it or not, I feel Simon does it the right way.
Take Care.

Paula was very quiet I thought tuesday night. What was wrong with her? I love Simon, He makes the show. Without him, Im not sure if the show would still be as big of a hit as it is now. I like all three judges, Im not sure what to think about Jewel yet.

I have to say that I think the show wouldn't have survived past season one had it not been for Simon Cowell. I admit at times he can be very harsh with his words. It amazes me that the contestants get angry when he tells them they can't sing. The man is a music genius--no he doesn't sing but he knows a good singer when he hears one. I don't agree with Simon making ugly comments about the way people look (genetically). Now if he makes a comment because someone looks goofy (dressed) I feel the contestant asked for it. Paula is just plain ditsy. I cannot stand Randy (such a has been name dropper).

Simon makes the show what it is. If you think about it, it would get pretty boring if every contestant was treated nicely whether they sang well or not. Part of the fun is waiting to see how Simon is gonna react to a bad singer. A lot of those people who audition really think they have a good voice when they dont. Why create false hope?

I love Simon Cowell. He is brutally honest and that is what is needed on the show. Yes, sometimes he's a little harsh when he doesn't need to be but overall, he speaks the truth. Just because it's not what people want to hear, doesn't make it mean. I really like Randy too.

I LOVE SIMON!! see if he wasn't there, no one would really "judge" the contestants. I really like how he judge's the people, i know he's blunt and all but someone has to break it to some of the contestants that they suck at singing. [i didn't like Jewel, she was too quiet, i think she said only about 5 words the whole show on Tues. night]

simon is a BIG part of the show. his little tongue lashings are harsh, but for the most part true. he can't sing at all but he can tell a good voice when he hears it. i think the show is good the way it is, although paula is a little off her rocker it seems. jewel was a good guest judge.
