Internet Explorer makes my laptop really slow...how can I fix it?
It's a new laptop...purchased in august

That configuration should not be slowed down by IE 7. I'd start by cleaning out the temp, tempory internet and other junk files. Scandisk first then defrag your system.

If you have Norton System Works installed, turn off the Norton Protected Recycle Bin.

How you use the laptop can be a contributing factor... If it's only on when you are using it, then it has to use that time to download updates. Try running the updates manually for Windows and for any anti-virus program you are using. Install and run Spybot Search and Destroy too just to be sure there isn't something malicious stealing your speed.

I have disktop Akkad with 1.7 Ghz, 256 DDR ram and 100 HDD it is too leas than your but I IE7 and no troubles so I think it isn't the cause so call HP customer care

IE 7 is really bad. It's slow on all machines.

you can use firefox it is more secure and faster the latest version is 2.0 and it is open source and is good because you can add a lot of useful addons just go to the folowing site

Uninstall it. It should revert to the previous version

uninstall it from the add/remove program in control panel
