As with assorted the Dell 8000 sequence, Dell started doing the entire SDRAM element. those days, the main elementary RAM is DDR2. Now, i don't be attentive to in case you ought to even deploy the incorrect variety of RAM in a slot requiring yet another variety, yet who's acquainted with. I even have an previous Dell length 8100 in my basement. SDRAM is unusual and actually costly. it is fairly useful to verify the RAM variety over (???) Did you bypass over the computing device's shrink? (thank you eastsidejim) in any different case, i could actually attempt to get tech help from Dell. they could have greater of a clue than me.

The maximum amount of RAM you can install is 4GB of DDR2 RAM.
If you go to the following site (the 2nd one), you can click on 'Scan My System'. This will download a small file onto your hard drive. You then run it, and it will enable Crucial to ascertain just what type of RAM you need for your computer, and tell you if you have any free slots in which to fit it.
You don't, of course, have to purchase the RAM from Crucial. You can simply take a note of what type of RAM you need and get it from somewhere else.
