Does anyone know of a good old wives tale, to know the sex of your baby?

Hey Jess, I do not know how far along you are,,, but... with each of my pregnancies I was hoping for a girl...
yet around the 5th month my heart and head "knew" it was a boy. I tried to change my mind... but it was stilllll boys.
You will probably have the same type of feeling.

Take a ring (plain and round) and a long piece of thread. Place the thread through the ring. Take the ring and thread and hold it steady over your exposed belly. The ring will either start bouncing or swinging in a circle. If the ring bounces, then it's a boy. If the ring swings in a circle, then it's a girl.

The only old wives tale I heard that actually works is the heartbeat. My mom told me after 12 weeks, if the heartbeat is above 160, its a girl, below means a boy.
It worked for every pregnant woman she's known, including all four of her kids. It also worked for my sister's child, and mine.
The highest heartbeat my son had after 12 weeks was 158, after that it kept going down all the way to 136.
My niece was the lowest at 162 and stayed around the mid 160's through my sister's whole pregnancy at first.
I was a little skeptical at first, and my mom and dr argue over it all the time, but it does seem to work.

i dont no about old wives tales...... but as any one heard of this way to find out the sex of the baby..... when u listen to the baby heart beat, if the beat sounds like a train, its a boy.... if it sounds like a horse trotting its a girl!

If you have to shave less, it's a girl. If you're carrying in the front, it's a boy. If you're carrying high, it's a girl. If you're really nauseas, it's a boy.

Truthfully, there's no way to know for sure. Even the Chinese Lunar Calendar is only 50%.
