Chevrolet 8 lug wheel question - 2004 wheels on a 1978?

Question

I have a 1978 Chevrolet K20 3/4 ton 4wd pickup. It has 8 lug wheels. Will 8 lug wheels off of a newer Silverado 2500 (8 lug) fit on my old 1978?
The local Chevrolet dealer says no, but the tire/wheel place says yes.

they will not fit centerhoses too small // measure center holes c for yourself

It's not so much the lug holes, but the clearance of the inner wheel and caliper.

I found out the hard way, and am stuck with four tires and wheels I bought on the internet off a Chevy Z-71 1500 six lug and tried to fit them to my 2500 . Sure, the bolts patern and size was good. But the calipers are larger and the wheels rub on them.

first put the wheel on the front and see if it fits, turns without rub or scrape on the frame and if oyu like the look go for it --- you're telling us that both 04 and 78 are yours so it is just a matter of the switch to check it out....... take into consideration the depth of the wheel and the bolt pattern and check to see that the brake cylinder and piston on the front wheel do not scrape the inside of the 04 wheel..

Well if you cant just try to see then measure! I would probably not but maybe so. Just measure from the center of 2 studs that are across from each other then measure the same thing on the wheels. then do the same thing for the center hole. IF there not exactly the same then dont try it!

not yet a circumvent will in good shape ford or ford circumvent ignore which. however the hollow in the middle is bigger on one over the different, degree the bolt circle yet im particular they are diverse
