With pregnancy there is an increase in vaginal discharge cause mainly by all the hormones. The mucous plug is a yellow snot like discharge. It can come out all in one glob or it can persist. The mucous plug also has a fleshy not foul odor.
Do you have a temperature?
Does the discharge smell?
Is it cheesy like?
Do you have lower abdominal pain or lower back pain?
If you answered yes to any of these questions I would highly recommend calling your OBGYN because it could be an infection like yeast or vaginitis. Both can be cleared up fairly easy. Good Luck to you!

I am also 21 weeks and have been having the same thing. I called my Dr he did a test for a UtI that came back neg. I guess some women experance more dis charge than others he said. As long as it dosen't burn it is normal. Your mucous plug you usually lose after 30 weeks and it does look like snot with a little bit of blood.

I agree that discharge is normal in pregnancy. I had gotten the same kind of discharge early and contractions at 24weeks and my daughter didn't come until 41wks and that was with a planned induction.
But, I would also ask the doctor about it. They are supposed to help you out and make sure you have a good pregnancy. You dont want to have a baby earlier than 34wks. If you are concerned please tell them about it. You don't want to be stressing about stuff. It is not good for you or the baby. Congratulations on your pregnancy and I pray everything goes well for you.

It could be part of your mucous plug, but it's probably just extra discharge. I really wouldn't worry about it unless there is blood. Pregnant women often have discharge. Even if it is your mucous plug, it can grow back. You could ask your dr at your next appt if you want, but it's nothing to worry about.
Congratulations on your pregnancy.

you do tend to get alot more discharge than normal, just another joy of pregnancy, i found using panty liners makes it less noticeable.
personally if you are not in pain and there is no blood id try not to worry and mention it at your next appointment. or simply give your doctor/midwife a quick call and ask their advice.
id be doubtful that its your plug but keep an eye on it anyway
good luck

I agree with the first two answers. Increased discharge is normal during pregnancy. I experienced it with my two children and went the panty-liner route.
Very frustrating! Just when you think you're getting a nine month break - now you have to wear them all the time!

U had alot of discharge and that is normal.... But a few hours after my mucus plug came out it was like snotty looking and alot, my water broke.. now after your mucus plug comes out it can take week or just minites before you go in laber so you might want to see you doctor and tell him/her hats going on and they can check your dialation

Very normal I hear the discharge gets worse as you get further along. However if it has an odor is could be yeast or a bacterial infection which would need to be treated.
