No, punching would be too good for someone who said something as cheesy and contrived as that. Better to give them a drop dead annoyed look and then completely ignore them. Sometimes silence speaks volumes.

As jail is an experience I have always preferred not to have, I would not punch them or anything like that. I might just have to sneer in a loud voice, "IDIOT!"
