how can my computer be attacked from the internet if i dont leave the internet on ??
a popup from my antivirus program says it has succesfully repelled it but how can it repell it if the internets not on ????
its a shop bought program not a freebee

That might be a false alarm. Some anti-viruses are known to raise false-alarms. Moreover, it is the firewall which prevents intrusion attempts, not anti-viruses.

If you have an infected file on your hard drive, a good anti-virus will alert you each and every time that file is executed, read or is written too. this alert will occur as long as the file is still on your hard drive.

It seems you have an infected file that is not being deleted.

False Alarm. These are not uncommon and I'd recommend turning off the notifications.

Switch to Avast,they are the best anti virus program around.They are also free.
