stage to sign contracts and get a moving date?

As long as the survey was fine and there were no additional details for the solicitor to check (ie rights of way/easements/guarantees) then the mortgage offer from your lender should be with you within 10 working days at the most.

After that it is pretty much down to your solicitor - ask your estate agent to find out when the other people (if its not vacant) want to move then tell your solicitor the date - you will need to keep on top of your solicitor to make sure it is all done to your timescale.

Probably looking at 4-6 weeks maximum from this stage. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your new home.

Every purchase is different, all depends on cash or mortgage, how long the chain is etc. But your first potential stumbling block in the survey is ok so thats good. Aim for survey to exchange of contracts between 3-6 weeks, completion 2 weeks later.

that all depends .. if you are a first time buyer an d the house you are buying ..if the seller of this house has found another house and there is no more chain then it will be weeks rather than months but if there is a chain it can be months
