Government is necessary. Without it some people would run amok. Just think of the lawlessness that would prevail. As for parties. George Washington did not approve of them. President #2 John Adams was a Federalist and President #3 was a Republican (not the same Republican party of today) There are two major factions of thought in America. Hamiltonian and Jeffersonian. While they both agree on freedom and such how to achieve freedom and for whom often differ. These different ideas lead to compromise which through the 200+ years of our history has proven to work well for us. In other countries parties, like here are made up of like minded individuals who believe things should work a particular way. Some are Socialist, others may be Fascist or Communist. Countries have a variety of parties. Some favor labor concerns while others tend to be more for internationalism. Some want a strong central government while others want a weaker central government with stronger government at a more local leve.

I do not believe they mooch off us. If anything people often mooch off the parties. They ask for favors by those in power who happen to be of a similar belief or have similar needs.

Parties are neither good nor bad but they are a fact of life in the US and other places.

There should be only the American Party.....

Recently I was told by a person that is a genius with an iq of 236, that the Republican party wants to run government like a company. With all the companies that have either fallen, or gone overseas what does that say for us as a America? It worries me.
I truly don't want to be a slave to a group of people that think they are better than we are.

Our government is supposed to protect the people's rights, the businesses and the ability to import/export; as well as wage war.

I think they have overstepped their boundaries and we as the public have allowed it to happen by misplacing our trust...

I believe that government is needed! What I think about the parties is another problem altogether. Our country has been mislead, lied, sold out for so many decades that it's time for an addition to be made to limit congressional terms as we do the position of President.

I think they all are overrated and deffinently are being payed way to much for just talking and not focesing more on actuelly "trying " to change everything for the better. So in other words,I don`t think they are fullfilling anything. Why is it so hard for them to see where the Economy is headed?Like i said they make to much money.
