Someone calls you the wrong name, and you can tell they are totally convinced that they have it right. Do you laugh and let them find out later or correct them on the spot?

Correct them with a fake name...and again the next day with another fake name and so on and so on and so on.

Correct them as soon as they say it, if not, they will think they have it right and will wonder why you let them call you by the wrong name for so long when you eventually tell them. The longer you leave it before correcting them, the worse it is

I tend to correct them on the spot...because all too frequently, people left to their own devices never figure out what the correct name is. Better to set them straight now before they embarrass themselves any further.

It depends.
If they have it close, like calling me Chris, then I correct them right away. I hate that. No one calls me Chris! If they're way off, I'll laugh like hell, and go about letting them feel stupid. It usually doesn't last long before someone else corrects them, like my hubby. lol

;o)
