They don't talk about themselves... have you forgotten about T.O.?
If people didn't hate Dallas before, they sure do now with him.
I personally like them (Rams rule though) but I think they are disliked because they ARE America's team and popular things are always despised.

There are many reasons why people hate the Cowboys. I don't hate them, but I dislike them a lot. Here are my reasons:
1) They are America's team.
2) They are God's team
3) Their fans in this town are obnoxious jerks.
4) They are my teams rival - I'm a Redskin fan. I was trained to dislike them. Now I dislike them more because I live in NM.
5) The way Jerry Jones treated Tom Landry was no class.
6) My favorite coaches of all time George Allen and Joe Gibbs couldn't and can't stand them.
I have always liked some of their players and coaches, but you can't expect someone to not like them when I have been trained to dislike them and their fans around here are real arrogant and mean.

It's not the Cowboys most people cannot stand, it's their fans. I personally respect what the Cowboys and Jerry Jones have done (not really lately though). The thing many people cannot stand though are the fans. They are in your face when they are winning and screaming at you about the glory years and how much better they used to be when they are losing. Yeah, we get it you won some superbowls in the 90's. That was a decade ago, what have they done since?

The term "America's Team", which is a media label. When you are a die-hard fan of another team, especially a rival, its an insult. I'm an American and the Cowboys are certainly not my team. Its nothing personal. Plus there are a lot of bandwagon fans around from when they were good. Those things are kind of irritating, so I don't root for them....ever.

Cowboy haters will say its because of Jerry Jones, or controversial players like TO, but dont forget that hate for teams comes from deep within. The Cowboys, like the Yankees in Baseball, the Redwings in hockey and other teams like the Patriots get alot of hate because they have a tradition of winning. Sure they have bad seasons, but overall they are almost always a contender and have won alot of Superbowls and NFC championships. Add it all up and you get alot of Jealous, pathetic losers who hate them for no particual reason excpet that.

There was a huge article in Maxim magazine last month or the month before. It outlined all the transgressions of Cowboy players for the last 20 years or so. Read it and then you might want to rephrase your question.
T.O. - Mouth, O.D., lazy, etc.
Nate Newton - 600 lbs. of weed
Michael Irving - Wife beater, drug abuser, etc.
Not so much of America's Team anymore.

Well I'm a Redskins fan and will always wish for a Cowboys loss.
I can't say I hate them though, I will just never root them on in any game no matter who they play.

The Cowboys were "America's Team" for years and yes they used to have a great record. However, personally, i got tired of hearing about them. Now it is another teams turn. THE SAINTS!

As an Eagles fan, the Cowboys are a divisional rival, so there's my reason.
