It has been so long since anyone cooked for me, that as long as you have a clean kitchen etc. I would think that that was so nice, I really would not care. However, since you are probably asking the question because you have a dinner to cook for someone, try to probe friends or family members (of your guest) to find out his or her favorites. However, DONT cook the dish their Mom has always made that they love so much because hey- Mom's will be the best - cook their second favorite. If the dinner is not a surprise-just ask the person!

Probably some 100% ethnic meal like your mother used to make.

If every course in the meal was something whose name I could not even pronounce, much less imagine that anyone ate stuff like that, it would make it really memorable. Anything else is just food like a restaurant could whip together or that we normally eat at home so that would not be very novel.

Ooo Oooo, I would like a thanksgiving like dinner, hot turkey, mashed potaoes with turkey gravy, stuffing, corn or green beens, pumpkin pie with whip cream, dark chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and cream puffs & a very big glass of water.

then you should join me to eat it because I would not be able to eat it all of course.
then fair is fair so I would make you a realy big dinner in return of what ever you wanted.
