I live in U.S. and I am curious who this Jane Goody person is exactly. Never heard of her.
Is she the British version of Paris Hilton or Britany Spears?
What is the show Big Brother about?

Jade (not Jane) Goody is one of these new breed of celebrities who are famous for being famous, and not a lot else. She was on the reality TV show Big Brother a few years back, but didn't win. However the 'general public' fell in love with her - despite the fact that she's ignorant, stupid and incredibly annoying. Since then she has enjoyed great 'success', appearing on several other reality TV programs and publishing her biography, along with the usual trappings of B-list celebrities, and is now a celebrity in her own right, allowing her to appear on the celebrity version of the program that made her famous in the first place.

Big Brother is a program where several 'contestants' are locked in a house, isolated from the outside world (no news, etc) and where they have to perform a variety of tasks. These tasks are often set up to antagonise relationships within the house. Every week or so 2 (though sometimes more) housemates are put up for eviction, of which (usually) 1 will be evicted. Personally I think it is the ultimate in trash TV - you're just watching people do very little, it's like having a glass tank full of dull dull people.

Recently Channel 4 (the makers of Big Brother) have got into trouble because Jade and other housemates were making comments perceived to be racist about Shilpa Shetty (a B-list Bollywood star), saying such things as "She should f*** off home (meaning India), she can't even speak English properly anyway". This and other comments have received widespread condemnation - even getting Gordon Brown in hot water, as he is in India on trade talks.

Ofcom (the regulator for television) has said that the makers of Big Brother will not be punished, but the police have said they will consider bringing charges against those accused of racism. The best thing about it is none of the housemates have any idea of the scale of this - as they have no news from the outside world!

Well to put it in a nut shell when it started out they picked eight or nine fading film or tv stars who were on there uppers and bunged them in a house with 9 seperate rooms and then filmed everything thay did they were not allowed to leave , that was bad enough but after a few years it had degraded to minor mini nobodys userly with the brains of a nat , two years ago Jade Goody , just about the biggest moron in the world if you had asked her what one and one were she would have had a brain seizure, well she was so obnoxious that she won and then became a cerlebrity , and made millions selling a slimming vidio
by going to a surgeon and having her fat removed by surgery then pretending that she had done it natrualy. she has a brilliant agent, pity her agent wasn,t with her on the latest big brother she and another couple of old hags , desperately jealous of an beutifull and refined indian actress who had got herself conned onto the show, layed into her with there tonques and went to far it looks if there going to get the chop

I agree, I in no way beloved Jade besides the undeniable fact that the reaction to what she did became blown thoroughly out of share, Ive considered some human beings posting questions about her maximum cancers in reality holding she requested for it....it truly is a million cases worse than some thing Jade ever did. quite Jade Goody even with the reality that she doesn't seem it truly is 0.5 black, so why white anybody is predicted to take duty is previous me.

Jade Goody enterd a reality tv show four and a half years ago as an unheard of person. She got voted out fourth from the end but became famous for her outrageous stunts on telly like having (penetrative) sex with a bottle and also for how ugly she was. But she had a really kind heart and when she came out she became a celebrity with a beauty store a book and a perfume. She is in the magazines or tabloids every week. And she is worth a cool 4 and a half million pounds now. She has lost most of her weight and turned into a (pretty beautiful) princess. I love her but she is getting as lot of stick over here again just for being herself. Of course someone else will have a different oppinion so you'll just have to look up old (ande new) footage to decide for yourself. Au revoir.

Jade Goodie's claim to fame was appearing in big brother, several years ago. She was an unintellectual, unintelligent bimbo who became famous for giving another contestant a bl*wjob.

She then slimmed down with surgery, released a fitness dvd and had a tv program.

She showed herself to be a brainless bimbo, but apparently thats what us Brits like. The people built her up because she was 'real'. She is no Paris, hahah- in her dreams in fact.

Jade goody is the british version of trailer-trash tv, she was in the bigbrother house a few years ago, and even though she didnt win, she was made into a z-list celebrity because of how vile she is,

It's just a reality show - Jade became famous as a contestant on a previous Big Brother show and is now a 'celebrity' because of it (and only it). No she is not British version of Britney (although she did flash her bits on tv too). She is just a rather embarrassing and uneducated girl who should not be allowed on TV with a microphone strapped to her! Please do not take Jade as an example of British women I beg you.
