does anyone else thing american idol is going downhill?

at least with the auditions. last night was filled with horrible singers and poor ettiquette and respect from the judges. i feel like the producers of idol worked too hard to make fun of people and didn't spend enough time focusing on the talent that should surround the competition. singing should be the most important thing. and the only thing criticized.

I have watched it the last two nights and I was surprised. Although there were A LOT of bad signers, I was blown away by Paula and Randy's reactions. It is to be expected for Simon to be a jerk, but this year it seems like Paula and Randy are acting te same way as Simon. I can't believe how they were treating some of the contestants. I can understand lashing back at someone who is mouthing them, however to make a 16yr. old boy cry for nothing is pathetic. The say follow your dreams, but how can they when the judges smash their dreams and make fun of them. I believe last night will be my last night watching American Idol.

I didn't know that it was ever uphill! And hasn't the show always been known for the poor etiquette and lack of respect from the judges (namely Simon Cowell)? And in an episode from one of the past seasons, I actually saw Simon Cowell criticize a guy who was obviously talented for not having the right look. All of this is nothing new.

Definitely agree. While it is fun to laugh at the people, it gets boring watching one bad singer after another make idiots of themselves and treat the judges like crap. I like to hear a refreshing good voice every once in awhile and I think they the producers should show all the people that get through.

When was it ever up the hill? I just don't get that show! To me, it is like a high school talent show. IT BORES ME TO TEARS! I think watching American Idol takes time off of time I may have coming to me in purgatory!!!!

Are you kidding? The auditions are the only episodes worth watching. They are hysterical. I tune out after auditions. I can hear mediocre singing down at the local bar on weekends.

I agree. I dont have a problem with Kara but I do have a problem with these contestants choosing the wrong songs, singing too low and not belching out the songs. like come on its a SINGING competition dammit! I could care less if "theyre having fun performing", you're supposed to impress us not "have fun" at the expense of performing badly! yeah if the girl with the red hair doesnt make it then Im out officially.

I really hope it does. The most annoying reality show after BB. They're all bunch of desperados who try to get famous quickly. No talent or whatsoever incl. those judges. Bloody disgrace.Shame,shame,shame!!

My wife watches this show. I can hear the screaming all over the house. It seems like the louder they scream the longer they last in the show. In my opinion, it bottomed out a long time ago.

and what's up with a the cursing....I just wonder if its all about the ratings, or are ppl just that stupid...I think there are many fine singers out there....why are they using those freaks....instead of talented ppl....I guess its just a comedy show now!!!!

NO..........the reason they show all the bad stuff is so you can watch .......it gets serious when they start cutting people in HOLLYWOOD!!!!!!Obviously you have not watched it before because it has always been like that!!! I still love it.........and it opens so many doors for true talented singers ...........not like all these fake celebs trying to sing. Without AI , we would not have fantasia ........so I don't agree with you.
