I keep hearing about the bad road and weather conditions yet according to the maps the road conditions around that certain area aren't that bad.Currently.Anybody actually been through there recently?I want to go but if it's too bad then I don't want to go and get stuck.

where are you traveling from? temperatures are above freezing and what was frozen is now thawed. stick to major roads, accelerate slowly, allow greater distance for breaking and you should be fine.

I haven't been to College Station recently. I live west of Houston. Anyways...there is speculation of another ice storm (possibly 2) coming thru this weekend or early next week. The speculators don't know how far south to expect these storms. I would suggest not going until the weather clears out which is forecasted to be by next Thursday or Friday.

Call the local DPS office(non emergency line) they should be able to tell you. I don't know what direction you heading out from, but last night in Wichita Falls, the highway signs ( over the roadway) said "Extreme driving conditions Hwy 287 south of Montague Co".
