Rip the covers off. Use them to redo an old bookshelf. Glue the covers to the sides. Pick out your favorite pictures(the flags of thee world are colorful) and glue them as a collage on the shelves. Apply a coat of polyurethane to the whole thing.

I'm assuming they're complete and out of date for quite some time. Here's a few suggestions:
1. Recycle them.
2. Sell them on EBay. There may be someone out there who is interested in old books.
3. Hold on to them just for the sake of it.
4. Find out when Antiques Roadshow is nearby where you live. Have your books appraised there. (log on to pbs.org and search for Antiques Roadshow)
5. Whatever you decide eventually, do not, I repeat, DO NOT BURN the books!
I hope this helps!

Donate them to a public library. Or sell as a collectable item online. Its like a snapshot of what was general knowledge at that given moment in time.

If you need the space, donate them to Goodwill or used bookstore.
If they won't take them, donate them to a school where the students can use them for arts and crafts projects like collages and scrapbooking.
