I know that one end is the regular usb, but what is the end that is connected to the printer?

Most printers are standard, the connectors are called USB A and USB B. The A is the regular connector (rectangular) and the B connection is the square with a rounded top. The USB/B connector connects to the printer.

There is also another specification the USB-mini which is often used for digital cameras, and card readers.

Hi. Some printers (and most cameras) use a compact connection which is smaller than a USB. So a USB to USB cable will not work on them.

Most of them are the same now. When they first started coming out there were a few that were different, but if your printer is newer, it should work with most USB printer cables.

You are correct. USB printer cable is standard. one end is usb and the other is a larger squarer USB cable. Generally, thats the way they all are.
