some of them of course, but you can't judge an entire nation for the close minded actions of few.

Good question ! Well, I would have to say yes to a degree, simply because people are terrified of change ! Changes are being forced on everyone at an alarming speed and nobody is given the chance to adapt to those changes before it all starts again.
However, I wouldn't say that the English people are the most racist, look at Germany, or France ! In both of those countries there seems to be quite an open dislike towards immigrants whereas in England it is quite well hidden !
People are horrified when it comes to the amount of immigrants coming over from Eastern Europe, and I personally blame the media for most of it !
So, no, it's not just racism my dear, it's also good old fashioned fear of change .
Hope that helps .

As a foreigner living in the UK, I see over and over again how many English people pay absolutely no attention to how their actions affect other people. Like most English have no clue why Scots feel that they're self-centered -- what does an Englishman mean by the 'North-east'? Yorkshire! Sorry but that's leaving out a whole nation further north.
English folk living abroad love the romanticism of their new lives and the better weather, but want to make wee Englands out of their neighbourhoods. They just don't get why the people already living there might not be too keen on house prices rising out of control or neighbours who can't be bothered to learn the language. Which is beyond ridiculous when you consider the outcry there is over people who move to England and don't assimilate quickly.
There are so many more examples. Of course the English don't see themselves as racist. They just don't get it.

Not at all. Racism is actually more prevalent in the Asian rim than here. But it is all over.
Quite frankly, a large portion of the hatred in the US right now is against criminals - those who enter the country illegally and instead of being thrown out are given everything handed to them on a platter that a normal family in the US spends an entire life struggling to achieve, and those that legally enter the country also struggle to achieve.
It is one of those things where you can definitely say "it is not fair" and "it should not be". Criminals are criminals and should be treated as such, not rewarded for their crimes.

there is an undercurrent of racism in all societies. in times of stress it shows its true colours. if you listen to the discussion about immigration you will understand that the most heated discussions are when people talk about immigrants from south asia or africa or gypsies. nobody really cares if kiwis , aussies or canadians or americans are here.
Nobody talks about being overwhelmed by white immigration!!!
This is but natural, its roots lie in ignorance and unfamiliarity with differnt cultures and asumption that we might become a minority in our own country . However the british society to a large extent acknowledges it and we have legislation which forbids us from carrying out dastardly deeds on people of other races. In that respect britain is probably the most civil country and the likes of jade etc are a tiny minority.

its a fine line between racism and realism im no racist but i realise that we have opened our borders to too many at the moment. in my town we have had an influx of 25000 polish and thats a lot when the town only has a population of 250,000 and thats not counting somalis, kosovans, albanians, turks, latvians, lithuanians and have you noticed that we get vary few french or spanish after all why would they want to be here when they have a better country of there own. we cant seem to takecare of our own elderly disabled or infermed our hospitals are full or closing down and yet we still manage to let all and sundry in here so that we can give them houses and every benifit going.

I think it s funny that only white people seem to be racist!! because there is Just as much or more racism in other nationalities and religions....I don t think it s racist to expect all people to respect the laws and customs of the country that allows them as much freedom as they receive here...and if they don t like our way of life then perhaps they don t want to live here!!

I’m interior the US and we are getting in the process the comparable element. we've a extensive unlawful immigration subject right here. besides the undeniable fact that each time somebody speaks up against it, they are at once categorized a racist. The financial device right here is crippling yet many human beings/businesses who relish the wealth of the working illegals are better than prepared to spin the disbelief that the illegals help the financial device. i assume whilst all and sundry is on the dole/welfare possibly then the human beings in government will finally concentration on it.

Yes, racism is alive and well in all countries, however, English entertainment...whether it is the program where the Indian woman was humiliated or Borat who consistently crosses the line seems to promote racism.

i think your right it might be more present here, but thats because our government is one of the only ones who refuses to put limits on the amount of imigrants, i dont have a problem with people of other races, but i do think that there is a limit to the amount of people in general that can live in this country. the more people that are allowed to live here, the lesser and lesser our quality of life gets!
the only thing i think is wrong is illegal immigrants!
