my period is due on tuesday, however ive been feeling unwell so i did a boots pregnancy test and it showed positive so i went and brought another test (first response) and that is negative!! ive been trying now for a few months.

I do feel sick and keep peeing im just scared of another let down ive already had 2 misscarriages however i do have a lovely little boy. i just feel now is the right time. i have polastifriic overy syndrome and am frightenedthis is it for me!! i dont want my son to be an only child like i was!!!

It's rare that you will get a false positive result, you are more likely to get a false negative. Go and ask your GP for a test.

It could be that you are testing to soon for the other test to came out positive, some are more sensitive than other or if your urine was more diluted by the time you took the second one that could be the reason why it was negative!!!
I took 4 hpt (+) and then I went to the Doctor and the urine test they did was (-) of course I was and still am scared but they did a blood test and it was (+) so they say that it was probably a very recent pregnancy and my urine was diluted, I drank to much fluids before I went for the appt, and that is the reason why it was negative!! So, you have a very good chance that it was positive, wait until next Wednesday and repeat the test with a sensitive one like EPT or digital ones..but if you can't wait call your doctor and ask him for a blood test!!!

I took several tests and got both negatives and positives. What gives? See FAQ 9 above; there are many variables-- concentration of urine, sensitivity of the test. Since true false positives are pretty rare, if you get at least one positive HPT, you are probably pregnant. Wait a couple of days and test again or try another brand if you are suspect. Test are not 100% accurate make an appointment at your dr for a few days time and buy another test to put your mind at rest a bit. If the test is done in a morning there thing that shows you are pregnant in your urine are much stronger.

- especially as you say you have been trying for a few months. It is pretty rare to get a false positive and pretty common to get a false negative so I would suggest that you are - congratulations if that is the case.
Try leaving it till tomorrow morning and do another test - they suggest doing it in the morning because that is when the hormones are most concentrated.
If in any doubt go and see your doctor.

You had a positive test your first thought should have been to got to the drs of family planning and get them to test you again or give you an examination. Go and see your gp or your gynea dr and get your mind at ease. If you are pregnant it usualy slows down the growth of cysts and the pain you suffer. I really hope everything turns out well for you I'm struggling to get pregnant. Already have two kids but am getting married to a new partner. I just hope that I can give my fiance the joy that we have already have, you are very lucky already. Don't stress about it chill out ! Hope this helps you ! ! ! !

The test is more reliable in the morning than at night. The best way to know though is to go have a blood test taken by your doctor.
My gal Melrose is totally excited about having kids and wants to have my twins. My playing career is near an end so it would be cool to settle down with my special woman.

I think without doubt you are pregnant. i think you just performed the second test when you had been drinking fluid all day and diluting the levels of pregnancy hormone in your systom. Its so hard to be patient when we are trying for a baby so we rush out and do tests at all times of the day (we have all done it) but I think you can be pretty certain that you are. Goodluck to you and do another one first thing when your HCG level is at its most concentrated. x x

seeing as ur positive result was in the morning, chances r u probable are pregnant as u got the best result in the mornings because ur body has the highest content of hcg then. best thing to do is try again in a few days and if its positive then go 2 ur doctor. good luck and i hope its positive 4 u x

oh honey! its so frustrating i am in the sme position try a clear blue test you will know for sure. If you are pregnant it may be to early to test do one 1st wee in the morning thats when you have the most pregnancy hormones. if not you will have to wait a couple of weeks its seems like forever when your trying good luck sweetheart x
