Seriously breast feeding should be encouraged, particularly in deprived areas as it improves nutrition, reduces gastrointestinal infections, and produces happier healthier kids.
Whether four year olds should be encouraged is a matter of whether you see this as a " sexual" procedure.or not .
The English and maybe the Americans are generally against public breast feeding forgetting that this is their prime function.

You've been reading the Last Emperor. In China it was quite the custom for the Emperors children to breast fed by a wet nurse until they were 8 or 9.

4 year olds dont breast feed- if they do there is a problem with the parents... by that time they are drinking and eating like other humans....

any child still breast feeding beyond the age of 1 is being scarred by their mother.......

and also....after a kid passes their 12th month of living in the outside world they're 1.....not 13 months.....not 16 months.....they're 1

Oh my god, when I was growing up my accross the street neighbor nursed her son until he was 5!!!!! We would be at their house (I was around 10 at the time) and the boy would walk over to his mother and sy "I want na-na's"!!! GROSS!
