Should cockfighting be legal if it was like boxing and had a certain amount of timed rounds and no spurs, gaffs, or knifes attached to their legs?

That way the rooster would not die and it would get to do what it naturally does

With your rules I believe that the sport could be made legal, but it wouldn't be exciting without those things, so no one would watch it.

Cockfighting is barbaric and no-one would ever stick to your rules.

The real thrill, these idiots get is from the actual kill, itself.

The gamblers feel like real big men with bloated chests.

Most of them are also drunkards.

I dont believe it should be legal. I say this because although it is what they naturally do, what ramification are we teaching the youth by making a spectator sport from it? We are telling them to watch this occur is cool and good and exciting, but we should not fight, we should not be violent outselves? Realistically, it's a sociological value that states fighting is ok, and watching a fight is even better.

Cockfighting is just as cruel as dog fighting or any other animal fighting. It's exploiting animals for sick human profit and entertainment.

Then let the roosters be free to do that naturally. But to make this a sport is in my opinion against all animal rights.
