Recently when I'm typing something, e. g., word document, e-mail, etc., my cursor and the letters I type periodically disappear for 5-10 seconds at a time. If I keep typing everything I type appears at once after the 5-10 second delay. It's as if some program is running, and possibly saving my efforts. So far this has not caused me any problems, but it is annoying. Any suggestions as to the cause of this situation?

Hi. 5-10 seconds seems like a ridiculous amount of time. You may be near the capacity of your RAM and the system has to transfer the data to a page file. Check the running processes to see if something unusual is running in the background. (Ctrl and Alt and Del pressed once.) Look at how much free disk space is left on you hard drive and defrag it. (Start> All programs> Accessories> System tools> Dick defragment.) Good luck.

u need to check ur RAM and ur harddisck space balance.

Normally this happens when u have more programs than ur system can handle, so the program waits for the memory to free and do the other work, which in turn make the other programs slow.

U need to add RAM, free diskspace.

the mouse is doing what is called homing. go to control panel/mouse/pointer options tab and then go to the box that says snap to and uncheck it. this will stop this from happening.
