The ST was Atari's answer to the Amiga, created under the command of Commodore's founder, Jack Tramiel, after he was ousted from his own company. Like anything Jack had a hand in, low prices were more important than quality. The ST's original codename was RBP -- Rock Bottom Price.

The Amiga, on the other hand, was engineered from the beginning to be an amazing machine, with a price tag to go with it.

So, my vote goes to the Amiga.

Defo the A500. The Atari ST may look the same, say Stunt Car Racer. The sound is equivelent of a gameboy, 8 bit sound, basic or poor depends if you were force fed the Atari ST. Have a look on youtube to see what I mean. Even a Zx spectrum 128k beats it on sound.
