People who are blind do dream. The dreams of people who have been blind from a very early age (called “congenital blindness”) tend to be different from those who are blind now but had sight before. Those who are congenitally blind often have dreams that include more instances of sounds. Both groups experience dreams as imaginatively rich as those of sighted people.

Whether or not congenitally blind people dream in images has been studied, but the findings have been mixed – some studies conclude that congenitally blind people do not dream visual images, while other reports conclude that they do.

Helen Keller addressed the topic of dreams in her landmark work, The Story of my Life. Her dreams are discussed in Part. III, Chap. V

If they are blind by birth, they have dreams where they only hear sounds/ voices as they do not have a way to know how things actually look like.

But incase of people who become blind at somepoint in life dream just like any other normal person is.

I was always told, don't answer a question with a question.

Well so much for that
If you had an accident and the doctor said
" I'm sorry we have to remove your finger", would you say,
"Oh no, I will never dream again!" ?

Of course they do. They have the same need for REM as any other person. In fact, I am a caregiver for a man with blindness. He often wakes up and tells me about his dreams.

I would assume that they do...it might hard for them to tell you what the dreams look like. If they have never had sight then how could they see what we see. If they have had sight in the past then it would be very possible to tell what was in the dream. Good question!
