Your adoption records are available to you..... you need to contact the adoption society branch which authorised your adoption. they have most information stored on microfiche film.

You will also need to contact the adoption agency to arrange to meet them and discuss about your adoption then they give you everything...

Original birth certificate... Letters of correspondence between the carer and the courts/birth mum. I even got copies of all the paperwork that went through the courts...

Good luck if you are thinking of pursuing this... but PLEASE remember for every success happy adoption story there is another side...

I couldn't wait to meet my birth mother.. so at 18 i traced her within 6 weeks and met her... we got on famously. until i found out she was a liar now i am in debates whether to get a court injunction on her as she wont leave me alone... THINK EVERYTHING THROUGH VERY CAREFULLY.... and good luck

You can try a path program i think this may be free.

Or if you want to search for free visit you local library they have excellent facilities for this type of search and at least someone will be there if you need advice.

Good Luck
