What do you write about?
Do you write a lot? how many words a day (or week, or month...or year)?
Have you aver sent anything out? Ever got published? Many rejections?
Any tips for other young writers?

I'm a novelist. When I'm writing a first draft, I'll do about 10,000 words a day (about 20 pages), three or four days a week. At that rate, it takes a month or two to finish the first draft. Don't expect your first draft to be perfect. Mine are generally incomprehensible. I don't let anyone read anything I've written until I've been back over it three or four times (which takes another month or two).

My first novel was rejected 17 times. Have several people read your manuscript before you submit it, and LISTEN to what they tell you. Even if you don't agree, especially if you don't agree, with what you're hearing, all feedback is valuable. Revise your manuscript several times before you submit it. Then, when it gets rejected, revise it several times again.

I write fanfiction, I am in the middle of writing a story right now, and I suppose I write about 2 or 3 thousand words a day, I've never really counted. I have published some of my stories on the Internet but not anywhere else. My tips would definitely just have to be to keep writing anything that comes to your head once you get an idea, because when you do get one you won't have to think, the words will just flow out on to the page. If you get writer's block, don't worry and just wait for new ideas to come along. Good luck if you are planning to write something!

I have written and self published two books. I only wrote the second because of the many requests of my readers to do so. It is very hard to find a publisher today. Almost 100 rejections. At the risk of sounding vain, I know now that my books are good because of my many readers. Even so it was rejected many times. The first book took two years and I only wrote when in the mood. It was easy as the stories were from ture ones that I had saved for over 35 years. The second was my life as a teenager and much easier to do.
Tips. Anything you hear such as stories, smart sayings, ect. Make notes as they are a valuable tool when writing.. example, Her big brown eyes looked up at me like a frieghtened little bush rabbit. Hope this is of help to you. Wayne

When i first realized my goal to become a writer, faced with the difficulty to have my work published for lack of funds, i did not let this prevent me from reaching out each day and finding something to write about. the environment of a writer is much like a room where you are alone with your work and all the emotions that come through the mind come through the pen too. I have never kept track of the words out of concern for a distraction in the flow. my topics vary at times and the nice thing about this room is that i have time left to give to other family members as well as my labors to our home, i am not confined to the writing room as a way to support my earnings and this fit's my style fine.I share my writings and face rejections which i use as learning tools to re-write and re-think what i am saying to my listeners with considerations for their present held understanding of my topics.this helps guide my work and give me a unique view from another point. now that i have gone through much of the labor pains and sleepless nights with long hours i now know that character building is difficult but rewarding.male or female, the delivery cost is the same..

I write kids books. I'm close to being published for the first time. I wrote my first book in 3 hours but now I take my time. Have family proof read your stuff and give you feedback. Take ALL criticism as constructive. Don't get upset if they don't like it. Writers spend years on various ideas until one catches on. Always have several ideas working at the same time so you're not looking for something else. It isn't easy but it is rewarding even if you don't get published.

Write daily 5 pages.
Don't worry about topic & publishing.
Don't worry about rejections.
Editor has imagination about the writer of his own; therefore add something about you in introduction........Start from news papers they have plenty of space and are always in need of some printable material.
