There is no different between a dream and reality.
- In a [dream], you can see, feel and touch as in [reality] is the same thing.
- When you finish dreaming, what makes you think it was just a dream?, is it because you come back to reality..How come people dream that they are dreaming.? Does that mean you just dream on your dream now you are back in reality which is actually a dream as well.
- What we see, hear, fee, and touch in this world and universe is just electrial signals in our brain.
- Everything a person thinks he possesses, his house, car, family, job and all his friends are all composed of images and sensations which occur in the brain. A person who understands this will also understand that the One who has created these images in his brain is God, to whom all things belong. For that reason, those who are emotionally attached to the life of this world fear this reality greatly.
- The body you see and the world you see all is just images they are not real, what is real is the soul.
- Each soul has its own choice to make. The choices are two of them, eather you chose good or evil. The price for that are heaven or hell.

There was once a Buddhist named Chuang Tzu who had a dream he was a butterfly and when he awoke he pondered "Am I a man who was dreaming he was a butterfly, or a butterfly dreaming I am a man?"

Dreams feel real because there are sensations of understanding in them, like you understand that if you go under the bridge you will get to the rocket ship so you can get to the moon to meet your friend for coffee, or whatever. It makes sense at the time and I think it's this sense of cohesion that murkys the water on this idea.

Your question about what is different between the people we meet in waking life and those in dream life is an interesting one. I honestly cannot say there is much of a difference, except you are more clear-headed in waking life so you would have more capacity to judge a proper reaction. As you seem to have touched on, we only ever perceive people and their actions through our ever-present filters, i.e. our self and defining these peoples actions based on how we understand the world and ourselves (our biases, likes, dislikes, etc.).

I suppose we will all find out one day if its a big dream, perhaps waking with real clarity for the first time....

The people you see in your dreams are all real people, though you may not recognize them. The cognitive half of our brain is dormant during sleep, so your brain is unable to "create" people to be extras in your dreams. The people you see in your dreams who you don't recognize are memories of people you have observed either consciously or unconsciously (like briefly or just in passing).

That being said, the philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer had an interesting perspective on reality as a dream. To paraphrase, he compares our existence after death to be the same as our existence before birth, with life being the bridge that connects or interrupts the two states. Since the majority of our "existence" is spent in the nothingness before birth and after death, it can be reasoned that this nothingness is our natural state and life is like a dream from our natural state of nothingness. A good way to think of this would be to envision a pie chart containing all of time. Our "life" would be just a small slice of that chart, with a state of nothingness taking up an overwhelming majority of the pie chart.

Rene De Cart answered you question long time ago in a different way, though. He said: Je spense, Je suis ( execuse me for any french wrong spelling), which translates into English as: I think, I am. This is what makes difference between dreams and reality. Good luck with all those theories out there that say that our life is nothing but a big dream. Just remember that they are nothing but theories. Good luck again!

What if it is? It is still a real dream to you and I. It is not a good idea to stand in front of a speeding truck to see if you're going to wake up when it hits you. When and if you do wake up, it won't be in this world. "Thou shalt not tempt reality." In dreams, it's OK to tempt "dreamality."

In real life, people come and go over periods of weeks, months, and years. I do not see people I don't know in dreams. But, unless you dream the same dream over and over again, I imagine that the people you see are gone almost as soon as they appear.

On another tack, when awoken, the Buddah said "I am awake." What was he before he was awoken? Was he dreaming, or just not fully aware of who he was? In the second case, is that not also a form of dreaming?

You might also consider reading "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance." It contains another answer to your question, one that takes about 25 pages to begin.

Your aims continuously rely on your genuine existence. Even a nonsense dream might properly be delivered on by the main random experience that would have befell to you. genuine existence lasts longer and for this reason has a much better impression on you. additionally, in genuine existence, you consciously administration your movements while in aims issues purely look to ensue with you as an observer even once you're in contact interior the dream

That is a truly disturbing yet interesting question... How do you people come up with things like this? By the way, I think I'd rather meet people than meat them. It might make feel sort of like a canibal the other way.

Life has something called "causality" that we can understand through mathematics and science.

Dreams tend to not have any sort of normal causality.

For instance in life, you have to eat to live. You don't eat, you die. This is a causality. One thing always leads to another.

Whereas in dreams, this doesn't necessarily apply. And therefore dreams are not real.
