Most of them are con artists making money off gullible peoples hopes. I don't believe in them but it's fun to watch Ghost Whisperer.

How do you know that they don't? Just because they don't televise it or put it in the newspapers, doesn't mean that they don't offer their services.
If I were a famous medium I wouldn't want any publicity regarding this, just helping the families of the victims would be more than enough gratification if I helped catch the killer.
John Edwards is really good I think. I always feel he trys to keep the show so normal and is very sensible with his answers to people. Unlike Most Haunted, where it seems like a"show" and not real at all. I think that is all for T:V ratings, nothing more.
As for mistakes happening like on the Montel Williams show...well that is terrible but mediums are humans too and can make huge mistakes like anyone else. No excuse for it though.

I don't remember exactly when, but it was in the late 90's. A woman from Illinois went onto the Montel William's show when Sylvia Brown was to be a guest. She asked about her son, who had disappeared one night on his way home from a party. All Sylvia told her was that he was in a water well or surrounded by water. I remember going to this family's website and seeing that they were asking for any information on locations of standing water, like ponds, small lakes etc...
2 yrs ago (I think) I went back to the website, and saw that they had found the missing person, in a small fishing pond not far from his home.
So yes some of them are nuts, but I believe some do have a certain ability.

Well, look at sylvia browne. Would you want HER looking for your dead body?
"ma'am, you're mother is right behind you. I'm hearing a name...... Erin? No? How 'bout erica? Not that one either? Are you sure? Than it's someone else named Erica. I'm sure of it."
C'mon now. This lady has sold twenty-something books and makes a weekly appearance on the Montel Williams show. I cannot believe that people don't realize that she's full of it.
Have you realized that, when asked, no "psychic" can tell you a) when you are going to die b) when the world will end c) what your middle name is. For god sakes round them all up and put them in a detention center, along with everyone who is too stupid to understand that they're basically pulling names out of a hat.

I am a Medium and I can assure you I am not a fraud. Most of my work I do for nothing and I bring a lot of comfort and help to those in need. It is wrong to make such a sweeping statement. If you are ever in Essex I will prove it to you.

Some do. There is a programme on living tv called 'Haunting Evidence' that covers the subject (havent watched it, i promisae!). However, I think its likely that police and profilers, who work in a scientific, evidence-based area, probably wouldnt put much store by anything a medium had to say and wouldnt want to use them.
Have to say I probably agree with that attitude.

For those who are ready, no explanation is necessary and for those who are not, no explanation is possible! http://www.psychic-junkie.com
But for the happy skeptics misbelieving there is no scientific proof, here are a couple of good sites for you.
Dr. Rupert Sheldrake, one of the world's most innovative biologists, has revolutionized scientific thinking with his vision of a living, developing universe with its own inherent memory. He first worked in developmental biology and is best known for his theory of Morphic Fields and Morphic Resonance. His latest book, "The Sense of Being Stared at" develops his concept of the extended mind. http://www.sheldrake.org/
The Institute of Noetic Sciences http://www.noetic.org/ Explores the frontiers of consciousness to advance individual, social, and global transformation.

I dated a natural born psychic. She said a woman came up missing and she kept hearing her spirit cry out to her when she passed this house in the country.
She went to the Police and told them her body would be found in a well on the property. They kept wanting to argue and acted stupid.
Then her inner voice told her the Police knew all about it and were covering it up! So she excused herself and never went back.

Frauds, and the thing is, if your kid went missing, you would be totally open to trying it wouldn't you? I know I would do anything, anything at all to get my daughter back if she disappeared, and these leeches prey on these poor people, when they are being tortured anyway. They should be forced to provide proof of pyschic powers before being allowed to make money out of people.
