I had it with my son that's kind of how I knew I was pregnant because I was expecting my period it was late but I still waited and it was a little too early to take a home pregnancy test. So one day I finally thought my period was coming and it wasn't a normal period, I bled for like 2 days not heavy at all and it stopped. I am used ot having normal periods but I thought it was nothing and maybe I was stressing and that's why my period. So I went on like normal and the next month came and I never got my period at all. I took a pregnancy test and I was pregnant. It is very common it happens to alot of people. How far along are you?

Here is a article about it:

Implantation Bleeding during pregnancy
Implantation bleeding, spotting, can happen at the time the fertilized egg implants in the uterus, on average between 6 to 12 days past ovulation. It is is vaginal discharge which usually contains a small amount of pinkish or brownish blood. Only about 1 in 3 pregnant women experience implantation bleeding.
Approximately one third of all pregnant women report bleeding that is associated with implantation. The presence of implantation bleeding does not increase the overall risk of miscarriage, however. Most pregnancies will continue until term without further bleeding.

Report any abnormal vaginal bleeding during pregnancy to your doctor. Be prepared to give information about the amount of blood lost and a description of how you are feeling overall.

The cells that eventually form the placenta are called trophoblasts. Specialized trophoblasts, the syncitiotroblast, are responsible for developing an interface with the maternal circulatory system to provide nutrients and allow gas (oxygen and carbon dioxide) exchange to occur.

Sometimes, while this interface is developed, some of the maternal blood is lost. This implantation bleeding is typically short in duration and quite light. Implantation bleeding is one of the early signs of pregnancy.

I have read about it happening, just light spotting but I am on my third pregnancy now and I never had it....just cramping. I also do not know anybody that has had it with their pregnancies but it does happen occassionally.

Got this from www.ivillage.com

How can I tell the difference between an early period and implantation bleeding?

I would suspect implantation bleeding if it occurs a bit earlier than expected, if it were scanty, spotty, pinkish and not red and heavy like a period, and does not follow the normal pattern of a period (light to heavy to light).

The BBT should remain elevated and not decline to preovulatory levels.

There is often the feeling that it is a period with light cramps and bloating, but the bleeding is shorter, lighter and just not normal.

If a woman is usually regular, and now all of a sudden develops this type of early spotting, and of course is "at risk" for a pregnancy, I would strongly suspect conception.

Its really not common at all. According to everything i've read, and according to my doctors. Women tend to spot or skip periods and believe its implantation bleeding.

Ive been told by all the doctors I ask that its just not a reliable way to determine if you might be pregnant.

I had spotting very early on that is what threw up a red flag for me to take a test and it indeed was positive. I assumed it was implantation bleeding.

apparently it is pretty common. i had cramping, but no bleeding when i became pregnant. i guess it just depends. also, you may bleed a little, but it may be so little that you don't notice it (for example, my cousin had bleeding but the only way she noticed it was when she went to the bathroom, there was a little blood everytime she pee'd, but nothing in between those times.) sorry, i know that's a bit icky.

It's not common. The majority of pregnant women don't get it. I think its only 1/4 of all women that experience it.
