Dillemma is really because one wins ever so slightly with the gameplay, but two is more familiar but it seems they tried to cram more in at the cost of occasionally getting lost in the action.

I prefer two due to harder levels and deeper controles but one might be better for younger players

Lego Star Wars II. The first one is a great game in its own right, but it's a hard scramble to get enough studs, there's not enough places to use the Force, and I hated the podrace. In LSWII, you get score multiplyers, and you can use the characters from LSW. (It was a lot of fun smacking down Darth Vader with General Grevious!)
